At the End of the Year - A Note to Our Supporters

News

Dear members, friends and supporters,

the forced break and the restrictions are over. In 2022 we were again able to offer our normal program - concert - exhibition - lectures - very successfully. Similar activities for 2023 are already being planned or prepared.

At the end of the year, I would like to express my special thanks to all the helpers, without whose support none of this would have been possible.

A highlight of our work was the erection of the stele in memory of the four Obernbreit people of Jewish faith who were deported in 1942. The fact that both local priests, a representative of the Jewish religious community and members of the local associations attended the unveiling was an encouraging sign for us that we are not the only ones who want to commemorate the Jewish history of our town.

This also includes that we will offer regular guided tours of Jewish houses and rites in the summer for old and new Obernbreit residents and for out-of-town guests.

Our St. Nicholas Bazaar could again take place at the usual place and was organized by our members and friends with a lot of commitment. It is always a reason for us to present ourselves, but also a financial success. I would like to thank those who so sensitively set up the bazaar, all the donors of the items and the customers who supported us with their purchases.

I wish everyone - with all the peacelessness in the world - a peaceful Christmas and for 2023 health, happiness and strength for the tasks ahead.

Stay healthy.

Yours, Jürgen Scherer, on behalf of the Board of Management
